Good Things Come to Those Who Wait.

Hey peeps. It’s been a while… And for that, I apologize to you babes that actually read this silly thing 😉 Let me tell you, life has been a whirl wind. I’ve got two items of business for you today that hopefully will give you a little insight as to why GWTGL has been so desolate for the past few weeks (months?)!

My sweet boyfriend of about two years left to serve an LDS mission last Wednesday (oct 11th)! He has been called to serve in Salem, Oregon! We had been preparing as much as we could for this for a long while. As it got closer there were many, many tears and many emotions. We said our goodbyes the day before he left and it was so hard. But let me tell you, after saying goodbye to him, I felt the most relieving and comforting feeling I’ve ever felt! I realized that after this I will never have to say goodbye to his cute face again! Yes, it will be/is incredibly hard still, but now we are just counting down the days until we get to be together again! Now that we’ve finally passed one of the hardest parts, hopefully my emotions and my brain will let me start making progress again!

I try on to talk too much about Zach on here because I know it would totally embarrass him. So I’ll keep it short and sweet. But here is a little back story to us: We met the summer between my freshman and sophomore year. I was super awkward and he was a music nerd (what’s new?). I met him on a trip for school that I had begged my mom to let me stay home from. We exchanged numbers and the rest is history! (Mushy/lame story, isn’t it/ :p?) We lived three hours away from each other before he left for his mission, so we usually just saw each other on the weekends. That was hard too, but I think it has made him leaving a much easier adjustment. He’s the most hardworking, caring and fun-loving person I know! He has forever changed my life for the better. It has sure been an adjustment not to hear his goofy laugh and wonderful smile all the time, but I know he won’t be gone permanently! Until he’s home I guess I’ll keep myself busy with this little blog…

The second item of business… GWTGL is getting a MAJOR UPGRADE! A different look, new content, and a new direction. New content will still be posted continuously, but the site may be down from time to time. But you can always follow along with our Instagram —> @GirlWithTheGoldenLocks! Good things are to come people! Just you wait.

Hey there! I'm Abby. I'm just a blonde girl, with a blog, from a small town. I LOVE fashion and beauty and getting ready. And I am a firm believer in using clothing and makeup to highlight your best features, not mask them. I grew up dancing at a studio and on a team, and now I can't stop! (Thanks Mom). I love getting ready in the mornings and I love dressing to make myself feel good. It gives a certain sense of confidence that I love. I've started this blog with the intentions of sharing all my favorite things style and beauty with the hopes you'll love them too. I also want this blog to help other girls find what gives them confidence. Because there is nothing better than seeing a woman who KNOWS she looks good. Thanks for giving Girl With The Golden Locks a read! xoxo, abby
